BoneStation is intended for busy bone densitometry practices that perform DXA BMD testing. Typical
departments or services include: radiology, endocrinology, rheumatology, women's health, bone
health and osteoporosis centers, orthopedics, geriatrics.
BoneStation enables Bone Densitometry practices to create BMD reports efficiently, flexibly, and effectively.
Bone density scans are transmitted from DXA machines to BoneStation, where they appear in BoneStation’s web application. Patient history, typically used for FRAX, is captured in an electronic questionnaire.

Workflow is streamlined and traceable. At any time, the DXA technologist or physician can easily find out the status of an exam (ready to review, on hold, reviewed, etc).

The physician is offered suggested assessments based on bone density measurements, patient questionnaire, and rules programmed into BoneStation. Default rules are based on ISCD and NOF standards and may be customized. Macros are available for frequently used patient recommendations. Practitioners have access to patients' electronic questionnaires. FRAX™ score generation is built in. Vertebral Fracture Assessment scans may also be read.
See how assistive review worksThere is no need to manually enter DXA data (such as T-score, Z-score, BMD, BMC), nor to dictate, or transcribe. This saves time and eliminates potential errors in the DXA report.
Read about it in our blogThere is no application to be loaded on physician’s workstation. A standard web browser is used. Robust storage provides for instance access to prior scans. Integration is available with RIS, EMR, HIS, PACS. BoneStation works with GE and Hologic DXA machines.
Multiple DXA machines may be integrated with one BoneStation installation. Work may be easily divided among multiple reading physicians, using the built-in workflow.
